# NovaCont Documentation

NovaCont is a smart contract-based escrow protocol that enables secure, trustless agreements between two parties. Users lock funds on-chain, define clear terms, and execute transactions based on predefined conditions. Without relying on any intermediary.

Payments are released only when agreed conditions are met. Built-in timeout mechanisms ensure that funds never remain locked indefinitely, even if one party becomes unresponsive.

When disputes arise, NovaCont provides a structured resolution process powered by **NovaJury**, a decentralized arbitration system where economically incentivized jurors review evidence and vote on outcomes, eliminating dependence on a single centralized authority.

NovaCont is deployed on **Base**, an Ethereum Layer 2 network, providing fast and low-cost transactions without compromising security or decentralization.
